China Meteorological Press

    Founded in July 1978, the China Meteorological Press (CMP) is now the sole publisher in area of meteorological science in China. Compared with other counterparts in China, CMP is a medium size publisher consisting of 9 divisions such as General Office, Editing Office, Publishing Division, and Marketing etc. The total employees are about 60, including 34 editing staffs. 

    As a subordinate body of China Meteorological Administration, CMP aims at collecting, summarizing, accumulating and disseminating knowledge in meteorology and research results of atmospheric science. The publications of CMP cover monographs, conference proceedings, textbooks and related reference books, atlases, datasets, dictionaries, handbooks, popular science books and periodicals (e.g. Acta Meteorologica Sinica in both Chinese and English version). In addition, CMP has also published a large number of books of relevant disciplines such as environmental sciences, space sciences, oceanography, geophysics, geography etc. In total, about 300 kinds of publications totaling 60 million Chinese characters are published each year. 


    The CMP has actively engaged in the co-publication with overseas publishers. The copy right of all the books published by CMP is negotiable, if overseas publishers have interest in producing English (or other foreign language) edition. We sincerely hope to further develop our international cooperation with our partners in area of meteorological publications.
