China and Canada renew their meteorological technology cooperation for another five years

On May 24, during the 16th World Meteorological Congress, Zheng Guoguang, Administrator of China Meteorological Administration (CMA) and David Grimes, the head of Environment Canada's Meteorological Service (MSC) held a bilateral talk on meteorological technology cooperation in Geneva. They discussed the follow-ups after the 12th joint committee conference on China and Canada meteorological technology cooperation, and set the long-term goal and specific cooperation content of projects fixed in that meeting.


They signed the prolongation agreement of Canada-China Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Science and Technology Related to Meteorology, Hydrology, Environmental Predictions and Climate Change. The period of meteorological technology cooperation validity was prolonged for another five years from May 24. (May 25)
